Andrew has been running his home improvement business full time since 2015, (though has always been creative, practical and has enjoyed decorating and home improvements for over 30 years). It was working on his own house in Leeds where neighbours would walk past and comment on the high standard of work before asking him to advise and help with improvements on their own properties. Then as neighbours of neighbours and passers by asked to do work for them, Love Your Home Leeds was born and the business has grown through referral and repeat customers.

Gaining creative and technical experience

Andrew has always been passionate about property, art and design, renovating his first property in London in 1995.

​

Though despite winning his school prize for art, he initially veered towards a technical career. Gaining a Masters engineering degree and working at British Airways Engineering. Before setting up and running his own CCTV installation and security business for many years.

​

Moving to Leeds in 2014, he quit his full time job, to reignite his passion and work full time on renovating and totally transforming his own property. The improvements were extensive; and involved stripping back - sometimes gutting - and decorating every room, landscaping all outside space, converting a garage for a home office, building bespoke garden rooms, and building a large rear kitchen diner extension - all to building regulations. Some of this work, along with client projects can be seen in our gallery.

We also work with and highly recommend a private sector building control company. They can provide a complete building control service from design stage through to final certificate.
